Massage and Tuina are the primary techniques for treating musculoskeletal injuries. They mainly involve pressing (按), rubbing (摩), pushing (推), and grasping (拿), supplemented by additional techniques such as kneading (揉), pinching (捏), friction (擦), and rolling (滚).

Additionally, depending on the condition, techniques such as traction, flexion and compression, shaking and oscillation, and rotational manipulation may be used. These methods help promote blood circulation, reduce swelling and pain, relax muscles and tendons, release adhesions, and soften scar tissue.

Any condition caused by external impact, stretching, twisting, or compression of the body’s joints, tendons, and muscles—or resulting from aging, weakness, or overexertion—without fractures or open wounds falls under the category of musculoskeletal injuries.
